My Class Management in Lila 我在湖区语言学校课堂管理

I work as a Chinese teacher in Lila Heasdwaters Campus from 18th.August.2016.My duty was teaching 3 classes Mandarin from 5th to 7th class, except looking after a speacial students in Grade 2 in Lila lower school from 7:45-10:00.

The biggest Challenge for teaching  here is the Management of class.Students in their age is having their own judgment and would like to show their mind,but their  behavior brought  some problems to me at the beginning time.I had to stop to make them quiet ,of course it waste our  class time.

To deal with this problem,Firstly,I borrowed class rules from Lower school,put the rules in front of the classroom to make everyone know what they should do,what they should not to do in Mandarin class.Secondly,I try to make more game time to make them do practise,most time they also would like to make competetion with each other.Thirdly,after talk with Principal Shannon Peterson,I realized how to reduce their chance to make mistake,for instance,Do not let them drinking water at the class time;make a staid seats for them.After several time ,the class become better than before.

我从16年8月18日开始在湖区国际语言学校高水校区任汉语教师一职。我的工作除了每天上午负责照看小学部的一位“特殊”二年级学生之外,主要是教授第五至第七节课初中三个班级的汉语课。

教学过程中最大的挑战时如何管理课堂。这个年纪的学生有他们自己的判读力和观念,但是他们的行为往往为我工作带一些问题。我有时不得不停下了去让学生们变得安静后才继续授课,很显然这会浪费大量授课时间。

未了解决这一问题,我做出以下改变。第一,通过借鉴小学部的课堂纪律约束他们的行为,把班级准则贴在教室前面的墙上,让学生知道自己的那些行为可以做,那些不可以。第二,我试着通过一些有趣的游戏和课堂练习增加学生的参与兴趣,让他们在竞争中获得练习。第三,在与校长莎纶彼得逊谈话之后,我明确了哪些事情可以加以约束以减少学生犯错的几率,比如禁止课间喝水,制定固定座位等等。经过几次改变后,学生课堂纪律渐渐变大好了起来。
