The Transportation for my work in Lila 我工作的交通方式

As one of  my most difficult factor  to work in Forest Lake is the Transportation.Forest Lake is small city with population under 20000.Not like metropolis,The public transportation system is as not common as in the rural area in Ethiopia.Not easy to catch a bus in the morning time.As I live in apartment ,I will not likely to bother Colleagues.

Fortunately ,I could use the Trail system for Biking,which is just paved for cyclists  from Hugo to North Branch,I can use a shore part of this bike road.Thanks for Principal Shannon sending back my folding bike.Those two month I used this quiet biking road come and go back from apartments to 2 Lila campus with 30 minutes every working days.Some time I also get a second hand  gloves from main campus,that helped me a lot when I was riding the bike.

我工作最大的困难之一来自于湖区的公共交通,作为一个人口不到2万的小城市,森林湖地区不像大都市便利,很难搭乘公交车出行,倒有点像埃塞俄比亚的偏于山区。我很难在早上搭乘公交出行,也不太方便去麻烦同事,因为我一个人租住公寓。

幸运的是我还有湖区便利的自行车绿道可以选择,莎纶校长帮我把折叠自行车从她家车库运到学校,我按照从南部胡沟到北布兰奇到一段自行车道行驶,从住所到工作的两个校区单程在半小时左右都可以到达。两个月来,我利用这段绿道作为出行方式,更开心的是主校区有时还赠送我一双半新的手套,这和其他的骑行装备在我的出行中帮了大忙。

How to teaching by Game 如何开展游戏教学

After several weeks teaching Chinese in Lila,I felt most students may get famuliar with my teacher style.But Some times they do not to eager to answer my questions.I realized dayliy way  for teaching is a letter boring.

I try to use more games to make class feel active.For example,I use Mid-Autumn day for Culture introduction class,Some students know the stories of ChangE Ben Yue,So I asked them to play the role in myth to let them make a dialog use new words.For younger students in Grade 6,I used HOT POTATO to make them join with our practice .One students stand in the middle of Circle,I played music,they passed the tennis ball to each other,when stop,the guesser could not find the ball holder ,He or she have to be ask and answer the Chinese question in Chinese.

I believe this way may make them felt happy while practice more Chinese dialog.

我在湖区语言国际学校教授中文过去几个星期之后,初来的新鲜感已经过去,学生既熟悉我的教学方式,同时不知不觉又觉得她们有点不愿意积极回答课堂提问,我意识到,一味灌输知识肯定有些枯燥。

我通过增加游戏的方式作出改变,例如,在教室开始中秋节文化课时,有些学生已经知道嫦娥奔月的故事,我就邀请她们上来表演,通过角色扮演的游戏,用学过的中文解说相关词语及开展对话。对于低年级的学生,我常常使用“烫手土豆”的游戏鼓励他们开展练习。一名学生站在人圈中央,音乐开始,一个网球在学生手中传递,当我喊停的时候,同学们把手藏在身后,中央的学生如果没有猜中球在谁的手里,就要按照学过的知识开展中文对话及问答环节。

虽然有些时候过于热闹,我还是希望能够把游戏穿插在教学过程中去,让学生在快乐中练习中文对话能力。

My Class Management in Lila 我在湖区语言学校课堂管理

I work as a Chinese teacher in Lila Heasdwaters Campus from 18th.August.2016.My duty was teaching 3 classes Mandarin from 5th to 7th class, except looking after a speacial students in Grade 2 in Lila lower school from 7:45-10:00.

The biggest Challenge for teaching  here is the Management of class.Students in their age is having their own judgment and would like to show their mind,but their  behavior brought  some problems to me at the beginning time.I had to stop to make them quiet ,of course it waste our  class time.

To deal with this problem,Firstly,I borrowed class rules from Lower school,put the rules in front of the classroom to make everyone know what they should do,what they should not to do in Mandarin class.Secondly,I try to make more game time to make them do practise,most time they also would like to make competetion with each other.Thirdly,after talk with Principal Shannon Peterson,I realized how to reduce their chance to make mistake,for instance,Do not let them drinking water at the class time;make a staid seats for them.After several time ,the class become better than before.

我从16年8月18日开始在湖区国际语言学校高水校区任汉语教师一职。我的工作除了每天上午负责照看小学部的一位“特殊”二年级学生之外,主要是教授第五至第七节课初中三个班级的汉语课。

教学过程中最大的挑战时如何管理课堂。这个年纪的学生有他们自己的判读力和观念,但是他们的行为往往为我工作带一些问题。我有时不得不停下了去让学生们变得安静后才继续授课,很显然这会浪费大量授课时间。

未了解决这一问题,我做出以下改变。第一,通过借鉴小学部的课堂纪律约束他们的行为,把班级准则贴在教室前面的墙上,让学生知道自己的那些行为可以做,那些不可以。第二,我试着通过一些有趣的游戏和课堂练习增加学生的参与兴趣,让他们在竞争中获得练习。第三,在与校长莎纶彼得逊谈话之后,我明确了哪些事情可以加以约束以减少学生犯错的几率,比如禁止课间喝水,制定固定座位等等。经过几次改变后,学生课堂纪律渐渐变大好了起来。
